Artel co-organized the event "Opportunities for Women in Modern Uzbekistan"

The event was held on November 20 in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, the Ministry of Public Education, IT Park and the Wonder Woman project from Kazakhstan.

During the event, the head of the press service of Artel Kamola Sobirova spoke on the topic "How to find a balance between career and family." The event showcased a series of video clips developed by Wonder Woman in collaboration with Artel dedicated to women's empowerment. Other speakers included representatives from IT Park, Amity University, the UN and NGOs.

Deputy Chairman of the Board for Research at Artel Uktam Ulmasovich emphasized in particular:

We are delighted to sponsor this event, and stimulate discussion about how to increase opportunities for women. Artel is one of the largest employers in the country, more than 30% of our employees are women. Compared to other companies, we are well positioned in the Uzbek market, but we recognize that we still have a lot of work to do to create a truly balanced workforce. We know that diversity of people and talent makes our company stronger. Supporting the education and development of young women is vital in the development of our country and enriching our talent pool.

The event is in line with the priorities of the government of Uzbekistan, which include gender equality and educational opportunities for young women. Practical measures include a law adopted on September 2, 2019, “On Guarantees of Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men”, as well as a strategy to achieve gender equality by 2030. This strategy covers issues such as ensuring equal and quality education for all, higher education for young women in rural areas, prevention of violence and prevention of human trafficking.

At the event, representatives of government agencies, private organizations and the founders of the project shared their experience and gave advice to an audience that mainly consisted of high school and university students.

This is just one of the events related to gender equality that Artel has planned to hold in November and December this year.
